At Rolls Royce & Bentley shows we attended, we found people were using 4-5 pots of HIDE CARE CREAM a year to try to preserve their dried out leather interiors. HIDE CARE CREAMS were developed for keeping the finishes on the surface supple, not the leather. Once the surface coatings have worn off, these products will soak into the exposed porous hide & eventually rot the leather. Wax & silicon were not originally used to soften the hide during tanning; an oil was. This is a tannery supplied oil similar to that originally used. It quickly penetrates the exposed leather fibres, softening & strengthening as it is absorbed. Requires access to suede fibres either direct or through any surface cracks. Not suitable to soften hardened surface finishes.
Apply evenly onto the leather & allow oil to penetrate the fibres, leave overnight if possible. Next day, wipe off any excess or reapply if necessary until leather is soft & strengthened. Ideal for reconditioning dried out & hard bridle or saddle leathers & 40 - 50 year old leather upholstery. Best applied prior to using our DIY Renovation Kit on old dried out leathers.
