Renovation Process

Introduction

ALL THE TANNERY REFINISHING PRODUCTS LISTED ON www.leathercaredirect.com ARE USED IN THE PROFESSIONAL LEATHER RENOVATION SERVICE WE HAVE PROVIDED SINCE 1988. THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED OVER THIS TIME & WILL ASSIST YOU IN GETTING THE BEST POSSIBLE RESULTS.

Before you begin - You will require:

  • Warm, dry, dust free, well ventilated, (preferably extracted) well lit area with room to open all the doors.
  • Two buckets, stiff bristled brush, heavy-duty rubber gloves, absorbent cloth, thinners, fine "wet & dry" abrasive paper, and fine artist brush.
  • Air compressor & spray gun that can provide continuous pressure between 35-50 p.s.i.
IMPORTANT
  • THE COLOURED PIGMENT & CLEAR MATT LACQUER NEEDS TO BE SPRAY APPLIED. IF YOU HAVE NO SPRAYING FACILITIES, THEN THIS IS NOT THE "KIT" FOR YOU
  • NOT TO BE USED TO CHANGE THE COLOUR OF YOUR LEATHER UPHOLSTERY
  • DO NOT ATTEMPT TO THIN THE PRIMER SEAL, COLOURED PIGMENTS OR MATT CLEAR LACQUER.
  • GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN WHEN USING ALL PRODUCTS. IF PRODUCTS COME INTO CONTACT WITH SKIN OR EYES, WASH & RINSE QUICKLY WITH CLEAN WATER.
  • DO NOT USE ON PVC COATED MATERIALS AS RESULTS & ADHESION CANNOT BE GUARANTEED
  • DO NOT USE ON TOP OF OTHER "KIT" MATERIALS OR LACQUER (INCLUDING OUR OWN)
  • ALLOW EACH PROPCESS TO DRY THOROUGHLY BEFORE MOVING ONTO NEXT
